FRIENDS

You can become a Friend of Reading Festival Chorus - a group of music lovers who appreciate the importance of regular live performances - for an annual fee of £42 (and a second Friends subscription within the same household is £32). Besides giving invaluable support to the choir, Friends receive:

• Advance notice of concerts
• Priority booking for tickets at 20% discount
• A free copy of the Concert Programme
• Name in Concert Programme (optional)
• Invitation to RFC Social Events
• Hospitality at concerts.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP!

Many people are astonished by the ever-increasing costs of staging a choral concert with professional soloists and orchestras. All audiences like to hear high-quality concerts but these come at a cost of anything between £5,000 and £20,000. This is made up of:

• Hiring an orchestra and instrumentalists
• Soloists
• Hire of hall
• Rehearsal costs
• Conductor fees
• Advertising
• Ticketing
• Performing Rights fees
• Printing.

Our audiences bring in revenue but that doesn’t cover all the costs of putting on a concert.

We would like to build a network of community and business sponsors in the Reading and surrounding areas in return for publicity and sponsorship acknowledged from the earliest possible opportunity. Sponsorship could include:

• Cost of the venue
• Cost of soloists
• Cost of the orchestra
• Underwriting a major concert
• Commissioning a new work
• Regular programme and other advertising where appropriate.
